IRCTC Train Ticket Cancellation Rules Summary

  • Confirmed tickets cancelled > 48h before departure: Flat deduction (₹240 for 1AC/EC, ₹200 for 2AC/FC, ₹180 for 3AC/CC, ₹120 for SL, ₹60 for 2S).
  • Confirmed tickets cancelled between 12h and 48h: 25% of the fare, subject to the minimum flat rate.
  • Confirmed tickets cancelled between 4h and 12h: 50% of the fare, subject to the minimum flat rate.
  • Confirmed tickets cancelled < 4h (or after charting): No refund (0% return).
  • RAC / Waitlisted tickets cancelled up to 30 mins before departure: Flat ₹60 clerkage fee deducted per passenger.
  • Confirmed Tatkal tickets: No refund is granted under any circumstances (100% cancellation charge).
  • Waitlisted Tatkal tickets: Deducted ₹60 clerkage fee, similar to general waitlisted tickets.
